EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or
completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that began with efforts to treat borderline personality disorder. There is evidence that DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and for change in behavioral patterns such as self-harm, and substance abuse.

Cognitive-behavioral conjoint therapy for post traumatic stress disorder (CBCT for PTSD) is designed to improve PTSD symptoms and enhance intimate relationship adjustment.

Sessions are 60 minutes.
Sliding scale fees are available to clients on a limited basis and based on financial need.

Cancellation Policy
AHB Counseling Services has a 24 hour cancellation policy. Late cancels will be responsible for $75 and no show appointments will be responsible for the full fee of the session.
Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis.
